Helping The Community With Nottingham Rugby
For nearly 10 years, we’ve been a proud supporter and sponsor of Nottingham Rugby, our local rugby team and an organisation that champions community work. As we renew our sponsorship for another year, we’re highlighting the important role they play in our city.
WHO ARE NOTTINGHAM RUGBY?
Nottingham Rugby have been part of the city since 1877. They play in the Champ, the second tier of English rugby and have had many international players and British Lions come through their ranks. Their players are all semi-professional, which means they juggle their jobs around a hectic training and playing schedule.
WHAT TYPE OF COMMUNITY WORK DO THEY DO?
Through their Community Programme, Nottingham Rugby aim to make a positive impact on the local community. This isn’t simply about inspiring more rugby players of the future, it’s about using rugby to make people happier, healthier and more active. Their programmes cover a number of key areas including health, physical & mental wellbeing and social & financial inequalities.
WHAT TYPE OF PROGRAMMES DO THEY RUN?
From health and wellness community programmes to working with children, Nottingham Rugby run a number of programmes to support the community and raise awareness of important issues. Here are some of their notable community programmes…
Health and Wellness Programme – Sponsored by Rushcliffe Borough Council.
This programme uses rugby to support other agendas in the Borough, focusing mainly on children and young people. Sessions might support local health and activity programmes or help food banks in the local area.
Club Links Programme – Sponsored by Education for the Children
EftC are a charity that support schools and education programmes in Guatemala, and this programme work in conjunction with them to raise awareness and raise funds. Nottingham Rugby coaches will go in and run session which will then feed into a local club, and in return the school will run a fundraiser on behalf of EftC.
TREDS Programme – Sponsored by Ideagen
Using the rugby values of Teamwork, Respect, Enjoyment, Discipline and Sportsmanship, Nottingham Rugby take tag rugby into Primary Schools in the inner city. Each session is based on a value and they challenge the children to think of how rugby can help them to learn that value.

OUR SPONSORSHIP WITH NOTTINGHAM RUGBY
The Art File has been a proud supporter and sponsor of Nottingham Rugby for many years. Working as a gold sponsor, The Art File helps to support the important community work that Nottingham Rugby does in the city and surrounding areas. Local supporters are incredibly important to the organisation, helping the club and the city to thrive.
Nottingham Rugby said: “Without the support of the Nottingham Business Community, a club like ours wouldn’t be able to compete at the level we do. The Art File have been a key part of Nottingham Rugby for many years now, and James’s passion for rugby is incredible. Our club culture is all based around hard working, good people, and it’s a pleasure to work with like-minded organisations from Nottingham.”
