International Women’s Day: Get To Know The Women At The Art File

International Women's Day is a global day celebrating the achievements of women everywhere, and putting an important focus on issues impacting women. It's an annual event that celebrates women and highlights issues such as gender equality, abuse against women and reproductive rights. Here at The Art File, we're proud to say that so many amazing women make up every area of the business, with women accounting for over 70% of our employees. In line with International Women's Day, we're celebrating them by sharing more about who they are in this Q&A article. Discover more about the women at The Art File below. 

What do you enjoy most about your job? I love being part of a small creative business. Researching new artwork that could fit within the Art File collection, making creative design decisions and collaborating with artists.

What is your favourite product right now?  I love the Huzzah collection! I’m a massive fan (and bit of a nerd) when it comes to medieval history.

How do you enjoy spending your time outside of work? I love travelling to visit my friends in other cities, hiking in the Peak District, DIY projects, painting and reading.

If you could be any animal, which one would you be and why? A lioness. Part of a close-knit group of powerful females, plus a lot of time chilling in the sunshine!

What do you enjoy the most about your job? I love how creative and diverse my job is. One day I could be on a photoshoot and the next I could be writing an editorial. I get to be involved with all different areas of the business, and I really enjoy that.

What is your favourite product right now? The new Louise Mulgrew card collection is my current favourite, especially the mini cards as I think they're really adorable and perfect for multiple occasions.

What’s your favourite thing to do outside of work? I spend most of my time reading and walking. I love exploring the local countryside near where I live, especially now it's getting sunnier!

If you could be any animal, which one would you be and why? I would be a cat. I think they get to live a very comfortable life and have a lot of freedom!

What do you enjoy most about your job? Our lovely colleagues and customers, and working in such a beautiful office.

What is your favourite product right now? All of the Tale & Ivy collection- the illustrations are so intricate and I love the cute characters!

How do you enjoy spending your time outside of work? Walking, cooking, travelling and gardening.

If you could be any animal, which one would you be and why? A very specific answer- my own dog Barney, as he has a great life!

What do you enjoy most about your job? I get to design for a wide range of products and clients, which keeps every project feeling fresh and interesting whilst allowing me to explore my creativity in lots of different ways. 

I also love doing the photoshoots! There’s something incredibly satisfying about seeing an idea from its very first spark all the way through to styling it for the final brochure.

What is your favourite product right now? I love our new sticker rolls! They’re so fun, I'll take any excuse to decorate my to do list…

How do you enjoy spending your time outside of work? I love to travel and it’s important to me to experience different cultures and explore the world. Stepping outside of my everyday routine gives me so much perspective as well as endless creative inspiration. You can also find me walking, reading, or playing badminton.

If you could be any animal, which one would you be and why? A cat, for sure. I love being cosy, I think I’d be excellent at cap naps.

What do you enjoy most about your job? I love the creativity at The Art File, seeing ideas and concepts turn into finished cards. I enjoy being part of the whole journey, from the initial brief, liaising with our suppliers, from proofing to print, finishing and packing, and then spotting our beautiful designs in store

What is your favourite product right now? Our new Under the Apple Tree range — gorgeous illustrations of cats exploring the outdoors, full of charm and character

How do you enjoy spending your time outside of work? I love going to gigs, especially at Rock City, as well as music festivals, walking in the local countryside, and heading off on city breaks to discover and experience different cultures

If you could be any animal, which one would you be and why? Definitely a cat, they have the best life…

What do you enjoy most about your job?  Honestly, I love that no two days are the same. I get to work closely with some amazing retail partners, building relationships and figuring out how we can grow together. It’s not just about numbers — it’s about collaboration and finding the right ranges that really work for their customers.

The Art File is such a creative, design-led brand, and I genuinely love being able to represent products I’m proud of. There’s something really satisfying about walking into a store and seeing our cards and gifts looking great on display and selling well.

It’s that mix of creativity, strategy, and the fantastic people at The Art File who I get the pleasure to work with, that makes it such a great role for me.

What is your favourite product right now? Right now, I’m loving the NTB30—the pink Tiger Notebook 🐯! I take it to client meetings all the time, and it never fails to get a “Wow, that’s cute!” People notice it instantly, and the notebook itself is top-notch quality. Definitely my go-to companion for notes and ideas!

How do you enjoy spending your time outside of work? I love running—it’s my way to clear my head, stay active, and soak up some fresh air. When I’m not pounding the pavement, I enjoy spending it with my family and friends or just relaxing and recharging.

If you could be any animal, which one would you be and why? I’d be a tiger 🐯—bold, curious, and full of energy. Always ready to explore and run around! I love the idea of moving through life with confidence and a sense of adventure, always ready to tackle new challenges head-on!
