The Art File's Successful Thinking of You Week
The Art File have seen a successful Thinking of You Week campaign already this year, having celebrated the week both online and offline. Our aim was to make it as easy as possible for people to reach out to their loved ones through the well-loved tradition of card sending – and it’s safe to say that this has been achieved!
We sent ‘thinking of you’ cards to several organisations in the local community – a local care home, hospital and charity. We sent a selection of our best to the children’s ward at our local hospital, the Queen’s Medical Centre, for staff and patients to write. The lovely QMC staff have sent us some photos, and we’re sure you’ll agree they do an excellent job of showcasing our cards! They loved the Thinking of You Week message, and told us it was great to have an activity that’s ‘something a bit different for the children and young people’.
The Art File also sent ‘thinking of you’ cards to local charity Base51, who said ‘the young people on our employability programme really enjoyed writing them for friends and family,’ and again sent us some wonderful photos depicting what people have chosen to write to their loved ones. The messages inside these cards, as you can see in the photos below, are incredible heartfelt and meaningful, showing just how important card writing can be.
We also ran a social media competition this week, and we’ll be announcing the winner tomorrow, so make sure you enter ASAP! To enter, we’re asking people to tag someone and let them know you’re thinking of them. The comments so far have blown us away and have been lovely to read. If you’re in need of a smile, the comment section under this post will certainly provide you with one!
We hope that sharing our activities this week has helped and inspired others to reach out to loved ones this week and share the love. We have thoroughly enjoyed helping people send physical, meaningful messages to their loved ones this week, and making sure that powerful connection is created during Thinking of You Week.
