The Art File Shortlisted for Three Henries Awards.

5 August 2019

The Art File are absolutely delighted to be finalists for three awards at the upcoming Henries Awards!

Named after Sir Henry Cole (who introduced the first commercially produced Christmas card over 160 years ago), The Henries were introduced by Progressive Greetings Worldwide magazine in 1996 as annual awards to shine the spotlight on greeting card ranges.
The Henries Awards are the ultimate accolades in greeting card publishing, and each year some 14,000 cards are entered!
All entries are judged by an extensive panel comprising top retail buyers from right across the retail spectrum including specialist multiples, design-led independents, small groups, department store selectors, supermarket buyers etc.
The Henries winners are unveiled at THE big night in the greeting card industry calendar attended by 700 people from all walks of the card trade, including a myriad of publishers, retailers, artists, overseas distributors, and suppliers. This year The Henries 2019 extravaganza is on Thursday October 3 at The Royal Lancaster London Hotel in London.

The Art File’s Luxury Boxed cards have been named as a finalist in the ‘Best Christmas Box Category’. Our Best selling Christmas Trio Box won the prestigious award in the same category last year, James Mace, Sales and Marketing Manager at The Art File had this to say about the nomination. ‘Naturally we’re absolutely delighted that our Luxury Christmas Boxed designs have been recognised once again in this category. There is a growing tendency to send a higher quality Greeting card to those who are special in our lives, and we think these elegant cards are just perfect for that very purpose.’
With 20 designs to choose from, including 8 designs from award winning designer, Sara Miller; each card is tastefully layered with high-end print finishes and embossing, 8 cards of the same design are then provided in the stylish box, ideal for the family at Christmas.

The Art File’s stylish and contemporary gift packaging and wrap designs have been shortlisted once again in the ‘Best Gift Wrapping’ category, as previous winners of the category, the in-house design team are absolutely delighted to see that the progression of design in this category is continuing to turn heads of retailers and customers.
Karen Mace, Art Director at The Art File had this to say about the nomination, ‘Retailers across the UK have been discovering that our Gift Packaging designs offers a refreshing alternative to other offerings currently on the market. Our roll wrap, flat wrap and Gift Bag and tag collections give our customers the ability to create some fantastic, impactful displays in store to create that extra wow factor.’
The Art Files recent addition of Luxury Gift wraps has added a further dimension to the whole collection, taking some very special design combined with beautiful foils and gorgeous paper stock to create this striking collection.

Finally, The Art Files Ink Press collection has been nominated as a finalist in the prestigious ‘Henry Cole Classic’ awards. This award is for ranges that have stood the test of time. All winners of this award enter The Henry Cole Hall of Fame.  Ink Press has been one of The Art File’s most successful collections to date. Robert Reader, the esteemed Artist behind the collection uses a traditional letter press styling, combined with bold colours and playful characters, delivering a hugely commercially successful collection that indeed has stood the test of time. The elephant & heart card (pictured below) is probably the most recognizable and iconic design in the collection, praised for its simplicity and universal use.
Ged Mace, Managing Director of The Art File had this to say about the nomination, ‘We were delighted to learn that Ink Press has been nominated for the Henry Cole Classic Award. These unique designs have always had broad appeal and we are grateful to all our customers who have embraced this enduring collection over the past decade.'

Introduced to the Market 10 years ago, to celebrate this milestone The Art File released the Ink Press Anniversary collection, publishing a selection of the best-selling iconic designs from the period. The 10th Anniversary cards are printed with neon inks and black gloss screen print with gives a fabulous contrast to the uncoated textured board.

The Art File would like to take this opportunity to thank its customers for their votes and wish the very best of luck to all finalists involved. For more information on the Henries awards, please visit their website:
