PG Live 2019 - Preview

2 May 2019

PG Live is one of our favourite London based trade shows and for the upcoming 11th installment we’ve pulled out all the stops! We’ve been busy over the last 6 months designing in house and forming new collaborations with some highly talented designers to give you one of the Art File’s most pivotal midyear launches to date. As a company who understands the needs and demands of retailers for new, original, and commercial product, we’re absolutely delighted to be launching over 100 new everyday designs at the upcoming PG Live, from 4-5th June, Islington Design Centre, London, on our usual stand location of 200.
Have you got your cup of tea (or gin) in hand? Excellent, because here’s what we’ve got in store for you.

We would like to state that all new everyday greeting card collections will be sold unwrapped, with the target that the entire Art File greeting card offering will be unwrapped. A full statement will be released the the run up to PG Live stating our plans for this.

Heather Flynn is a British designer and brand creator. Born in Scotland and based in London, she has been creating greeting cards and gift product with some of the UK’s best loved publishers for over 15 years. As the owner and designer behind both Alice Scott (and jointly Happy Jackson with Giles Andreae), she is the creative behind the sale of millions of greetings cards, with much of her work gathering numerous industry awards.
We are delighted to be launching Heather’s most recent creation called ‘Snap to Grid’. We were instantly attracted by the fresh humour of this new collection together with the upbeat tones which fit perfectly with The Art File. Unlike some other word ranges on the market which rely on crude or rude words to raise the significance of the gag, this colourful collection is just witty and therefore will attract a very wide audience. We launch Snap to Grid at PG Live in June - the collection comprises 18 birthday and open designs, with 11 occasions and 7 age cards.
Here's what Heather had to say about this exciting new collection. ‘I’ve both written and designed right from the start of my career, so cards have always felt like a natural home and one I enjoy designing immensely.’, says Heather. ‘I’ve always felt extremely lucky to have fun in my job and to work with some great people and retailers. Creating ‘Snap to Grid’ with The Art File has of course been no exception!’.

Emily Brooks is an award-winning British illustrator and designer. Her recognizable card collections are stocked at Liberty, Paperchase, Oliver Bonas and independent retailers across the UK, Canada and Europe.
Known for block colour, engagingly playful illustration and popular social media content, Emily’s marketable designs are growing in popularity and fast becoming a favourite for many design-inspired retailers. In January 2018 Emily exhibited at Top Drawer London, officially (and successfully) launching her products to the wider market.
A year and a half later and Emily Brooks is working with licensee partners across exciting product categories to create 2020 launches for stationery, giftwrap, tabletop and giftware. Emily says ‘It’s always about lifting the spirit of the audience or customer’. With this at the heart of Emily’s work, get ready to see a lot more of this expanding and contagiously colourful brand!
The Art File are absolutely delighted to be representing Emily for greeting cards and we are launching 24 of her bestselling designs, as well as three exclusive new designs especially for us. This eye-popping collection of colour is certain to stand out even to the most discerning of retailers worldwide, and we can’t wait for you to see it.

Infinity and Beyond is The Art File’s newest Everyday collection fresh from the studios of its multi award winning design team. The collection is inspired by the celestial trend of the 90’s, which has had a recent revival on the catwalk. Featuring suns, moons and an array of stars, the collection has a whimsical and magical feel, including inspirational and light-hearted phrases. Using die stamping to emphasise the crisp detailed lines and sophisticated feel of each design the resulting collection is both magical and inspiring. This atmospheric collection consists of 13 everyday and 5 occasions cards which also compliment our stationery and gift packaging collection Constellations in store.

Moving onto a new 3D pop up collection called ‘Twist Out’ by World leading Fold Designer, Paul Jackson.  Paul, who has written more than 40 books about origami, pop-up design and packaging, has taught fold design in more than 80 Colleges of Art & Design and widely exhibited his work around the globe.

The Art File has always been at the forefront of Fold 3D design and enjoys taking paper engineering to the next level by working with experts in the field and to celebrate our collaboration with Paul we are launching 18 stunning designs at PGLive.
