A milestone for CLIC Sargent

24 October 2014

The Art File has been supporting the children’s cancer charity CLIC Sargent for a number of years now through our Christmas Charity Pack collection; 48 pence from each pack goes directly to this great charity to help them support children who face cancer, and their families. The charity provides clinical, practical, financial and emotional support to help children cope with cancer and get the most of life. The Charity is there from diagnosis of cancer onwards and aims to help the whole family deal with the impact of cancer and its treatment, life after treatment and, in some cases bereavement.

So far, thanks to the fantastic support from our customers, The Art File has raised a total of £57,722.18 for the charity, and will continue to work closely with the charity in the future.

Where the money goes:

£50,000 could pay for a CLIC Sargent nurse for a year. CLIC Sargent nurses coordinate clinical and non-clinical care for children with cancer to maximise the amount of time they can safely spend at home, and ensure that treatments can be given close to home where possible.

£2500 could pay for 14 young people to take part in a residential weekend at Malcom Sargent House, CLIC Sargents Holiday home in Ayrshire, where young people can meet others with similar experiences, helping them feel less isolated.

The Art File would like to take this opportunity to thank our Customers for their continued support of this great cause, and we shall continue to support them in the future.
